Movies are most importantly about the attending and the attendance.
I would like to own my own theater, but theatre; with an orchestra pit and live performances on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons. $20 a ticket. $10 matinee. During the week I would show movies at all hours, starting at 8 am.
The weekends would be spectacular.
Dress code strictly enforced. Date night is a must here. We have the right to refuse no one service. Everybody is welcomed.
Lobby is filled with street carts and carnival foods. (Just try not to spill anything on her dress- dry cleaning available on demand) Snacks will be affordable and video arcade games are free. Chairs will be comfortable, preferably leather with tray tables and phone charging compartments. (So, no light can be shown during performances).
We will have a full bar, cocktail intermissions, and child care if needed. Uber and Lyft have a continuous cycles to come after movies let out. Peanuts will be slightly roasted. Pretzels are served with homemade dipping sauces from our scratch kitchen.
Directors, Actors, and Producers show up. Q & As will happen.
Concerts will go on by themselves, too. Once a month, there will be free shows: one movie & one musical performance. All year.
Sounds too good to be true, but I can see it; smell it even.
Not too long ago, this is what the movies were about. Collecting ticket stubs, action figures, and my favorite: posters.
We used to get out of the house.
Now, we are trapped by a world of convenience.
So, why not make the going good again. (Not a Charmin commercial)
Just a dream.
A wheel in a clock; a part of a bigger picture to connect people. Let’s be human.
